Our 300-acre resort is situated in the Eastern foothills of the BC Cascade Mountains, at an elevation of roughly 1065m or 3500 feet. The mountain climate is generally dry, with summer days ranging from warm to hot, however, nights are usually cool and comfortable for sleeping.

Nestled in an extensive area of sub-alpine grasslands, it commands panoramic views of open rolling hills, stands of fir, Ponderosa pine, spruce, larch and aspen and wild flower meadows.

History

Our nearest neighbors are 3 of the largest cattle ranches in Canada.

Corbett Lake Country Inn has earned an international reputation for its trophy trout fishing. The lake has controlled access, is fly fishing only, and continues to be actively managed by Peter McVey. Several other chains of lakes in the vicinity offer fishing of all types, including trolling and spin casting.

Our historic main Lodge retains its 1940′s character with a charming great lounge and original large stone fireplace that remains the meeting place for guests after a day’s fishing.

The spacious, licensed dining room has witnessed some great culinary talent over the years where we have proudly hosted special event dinners, holiday celebrations and weddings.

Our accommodations consist of a blend of 1-bedroom cedar cottages and a more recently built duplex with full kitchens and fireplaces, as well as newly renovated rooms in the Lodge itself. All have views overlooking the lake and the hills beyond.

Whether you choose to be active or just relax and enjoy the surroundings, we offer something for everyone.

There are a wide variety of activities at the Lodge and in the surrounding area:

  • fishing
  • horseback trails
  • dude ranches
  • hiking
  • birdwatching
  • mountain biking
  • canoeing
  • golf
  • and wine tasting

Merritt is the home of the Merritt Mountain Music Festival every July and the Nicola Valley Pro Rodeo with its blend of high caliber rodeo competitions and country fair activities is held every Labour Day weekend. Okanagan wineries are less than an hour away and offer a variety of special events and festivals.  In the winter, excellent cross-country skiing is minutes away, with trails groomed by the Nicola Nordic Ski Club.
